Position


We have a rare opportunity for an OCMS Draftsperson to come into a highly functioning team to support and enhance the delivery of operational train services for the public. Our systems rely on a number of different communications networks and systems operating between centralised and field equipment located across the metropolitan rail network. The Draftsperson will work on exciting upcoming Level Crossing Removal Projects, Metro Tunnel Project and other Franchise project. Reporting to the Lead Draftsperson, the successful applicant will be responsible for generating drawings compliant with the technical standards of MTM and the Public Transport Victoria (PTV) Drawing Management System (DMS) within agreed timeframes

Responsibilities

 

Liaising with project staff and other stakeholders to produce as-built drawings.
Producing drawings in accordance with MTM technical standards as directed by the Chief Engineer’s Office.
Producing drawings in accordance with PTV’s DMS requirements.
Reviewing contractor supplied drawings for compliance against MTM and PTV standards.
Developing and maintaining project drawing registers.Implementing configuration management processes for drawing version control and workflow.
Supporting and guide additional drafting resources during peak workload periods.
Providing regular progress reports as requested by the Drafting Lead.
Supporting the achievement of Balance Scorecard objectives
Adhering to all legislative and regulatory requirements

About You

 

In order to be successful you will possess the following;

  • Qualification in Drafting
  • Minimum five years of drafting experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Revit 3D modelling is required.
  • Previous experience in setting up projects in Revit is required.
  • Previous experience with BIM360 is desirable
  • Previous experience with building services drafting is required.
  • Experience using ProjectWise and/or similar document management systems is required
  • Ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of the business.
  • Worked for a design consultant on a construction project in a document control position or for a contractor who has liaised with the distribution of design drawings and data;
  • Previous experience using CAD templates and adhering to standards.
  • Previous experience with drawing management systems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain master drawing lists.Previous experience implementing drawing version control from concept to final version.
  • Previous experience working with or managing other drafting resources.
