We’re currently seeking a STM Electrician for our Bayswater Depot
You will undertake a variety of tasks including inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of suburban train fleet vehicles to support the safe, reliable, and punctual operation of the fleet.
What We Offer
- Permanent full-time position
- Free on-site parking
- Roster: 7:00am to 3:30pm (initially) then moving to a day/evening roster
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all established safety procedures and protocols.
- Respond to incidents such as derailments, collisions, pantograph entanglements, fatalities, and other train-related emergencies.
- Conduct examinations and inspections as required including diagnose, check, and repair electrical circuits and systems.
- Perform fault-finding using train electrical schematics and approved diagnostic practices.
- Carry out train modifications in line with operational requirements.
- Service electrical and mechanical control systems, including fault monitoring circuitry.
- Utilise computer-based tools and diagnostic equipment for maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Service and maintain fleet rotating machinery as well as replace and install major fleet components as necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
You’re a driven professional who takes accountability for your actions and is committed to delivering high-quality outcomes. You collaborate effectively, foster strong working relationships, and lead through example.
- Trade Qualification: Must hold a recognised trade qualification as an Electrical Fitter or Electrical Mechanic.
- Driver’s Licence: Must possess a current and valid Driver’s Licence.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ demonstrated experience in a comparable electrical role (highly desirable).
- Sector Expertise: Proven capability in either the rail or manufacturing industry (highly desirable).
- Industry Knowledge: Proven experience working on Siemens train maintenance (highly desirable).
