Inclusion is the achievement of a work environment, in which all individuals are treated fairly and respectfully, have equal access to opportunities and resources, and can contribute fully to our success.
Building the diversity of our workforce, and creating an inclusive workplace culture is a key focus at Metro. Since 2018, Women in the workforce has increased from 21.7% to 27.5% as at 30 June 2020. We have seen significant increases in the number of women in train driving roles, engineering and in our senior leadership. Our commitment to social inclusion targets employment for people from under-represented groups and those facing barriers to employment. In FY 2020, over 5% of our recruited candidates came to our business from these groups.
