Our engineering graduate program supports you to become independent and innovative professionals with the knowledge and skills to shape Melbourne’s rail industry. Metro graduates rotate through the business at our different sites to learn how each area contributes to running a safe and reliable rail passenger focused service. Our Graduates are the future leaders of our business and will shape the future of the growing rail network.The two year program gives each graduate experience in:

Assist in core business functions

Teams are scattered throughout our entire network (across Melbourne) and our graduates assist core functions of the business in their duties. Often they will work on small projects that will have a large impact on our business

Keen to learn

They are keen to learn; often gaining experience with people who have worked on the network for 30+ years

Passion

They are passionate about what they do and represent Metro with pride

To be eligible for the Graduate Program you will need to be a recent Engineering Graduate or obtaining at degree at the end of the year. Your course must be acceptable for membership to the Institution of Engineers Australia.

Each year there are two intakes of graduates to commence in January and July with positions advertised in July/August and Feb/March.
