About the role
In this role you will support the development, execution and delivery of stakeholder engagement plans and initiatives to proactively maintain positive and productive relationships with government and other key external stakeholders.
You will also assist in managing and leveraging Metro’s industry partnerships, contributes to risk management activities, and supports Metro’s executives by collecting information, conducting research and providing advice.
This is a full time permanent position, based at 700 Collins Street with a hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver government and stakeholder plans aligned with MTM’s strategy, ensuring quality, consistency, and continuous improvement.
- Create and manage communications collateral for diverse external audiences, including briefs, presentations, reports, digital content, and event support.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, concise messaging.
- Identify and manage reputational risks, escalating issues as needed, while generating positive stakeholder stories.
- Apply strategic analysis to campaigns and channels to inform improvements, and document processes for consistent communications across teams.
- Build and maintain relationships, leverage industry partnerships, and represent Metro Trains at events.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.
- Experience in a similar role supporting government and stakeholder relations, integrated communication strategies, and significant senior stakeholder management.
- Strong writing and editorial skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of risk management and ability to apply appropriate tone and style in communications.
