- Full Time Max Term Contract till November 2025
- Monday – Friday – Day Shift
- Location: E-Gate / 628 Bourke St
- My be required to participate in a 24/7 on-call roster for critical system support and fault resolution
ABOUT THE TEAM
Network Assets & Assurance (NA&A) team at Metro includes more than 2000 people from Infrastructure, Innovation, Engineering, Rolling Stock, OCMS (Operational Control Management Systems), Strategic Asset Management and Planning and Integration.
The NA&A team manage the change to the network – ensuring that the asset outcome is safe, reliable and sustainable, both today and into the future.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Sitting within NA&A, The CBTC Process Improvement Manager ensures the reliability, efficiency, and operational performance of Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) systems within Metro Tunnel Project (MTP) operations. This role is responsible for identifying and mitigating risks, improving fault response times, and ensuring system resilience by embedding standardised processes and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, this role ensures CBTC processes align with Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) infrastructure standards, supports testing and commissioning activities, and enhances coordination between technical teams to reduce disruptions and improve system sustainability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for CBTC operations, ensuring optimal system performance and fault response.
- Develop and implement standardised processes for CBTC maintenance and incident response.
- Lead and participate in workshops, planning, design, and system integration activities.
- Support test and commissioning activities, providing technical oversight and guidance.
- Assist in the development and delivery of CBTC training for relevant personnel.
ABOUT YOU
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Telecommunications, or Computer Systems) or equivalent.
- Extensive CBTC system experience, including maintenance, operations, or process improvement.
- Strong technical knowledge of railway signalling, train control, and telecommunications systems.
- Proven experience in risk management, fault mitigation, and system performance optimisation
