About the Role

 

The Hi-Rail Machine Operator (Excavator) position undertakes corrective, preventative and reactive maintenance and renewals activities of track assets.

 

This is a permanent position working 38 hrs from Sunday to Wednesday on the night shift 8pm – 5.30am (some overtime may be required). 

 

You will be part of the Infrastructure – track team based at E-Gate and working across the Metro Network. 

 

Responsibilities will include;

 

•    Undertaking maintenance, repair and installation work of track renewal and reactive works ( Re-railing, ballast renewal and sleeper renewal)
•    Completing and undertaking manual handling and labouring tasks
•    Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following all relevant safety protocols

 

To be considered for the role you must have;

 

•    Previous track work experience- HR excavator experience in Re-railing
•    Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the team
•    Heavy Rigid (HR) and Hi-Rail Excavator licence
•    Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure
•    Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card)
•    Train Track Safety Awareness Certificate
•    Valid Victorian drivers license
