ABOUT THE ROLE

 

Deliver expert technical and managerial support for OCMS and signalling systems throughout their lifecycle, from design to commissioning. Ensure project requirements are met within budget and KPIs, prioritizing safety and functionality of infrastructure.

 

This position is offered on a maximum term basis for 15 months.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Ensure strict adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to the project, maintaining meticulous records and documentation to demonstrate compliance throughout.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders, fostering open communication channels and collaboration to support project objectives effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to assist in the comprehensive planning of project activities, including resource allocation, scheduling, and risk assessment.
  • Play a pivotal role in the engagement of contractors and suppliers, from initial tendering processes through to evaluation and contract management.
  • Take ownership of the development and maintenance of all site delivery-related documentation, including Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Risk Assessments, and Works Packs. Lead efforts to streamline project communication and documentation processes, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all project-related materials.
  • Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to safety by proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards and risks within the project environment.
  • Provide valuable signalling technical advice and support to the project team, leveraging extensive industry knowledge and experience to overcome technical challenges and optimize project outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project team, actively seeking out opportunities to refine work practices, streamline processes, and enhance project efficiency.
  • Show readiness to work on-site beyond regular business hours to accommodate the demands of upgrading the delivery schedule during the "after last before first" train schedule.

 

 

ABOUT YOU

 

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering or equivalent with 3-4 years of experience in railway signalling systems or related operational environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality signalling solutions, including experience in design, construction, or testing.
  • Proven track record of working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, integrating systems, and achieving project objectives.
  • Strong ability to plan and develop detailed project scopes, organize work efficiently, and manage budgets effectively while adhering to standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to mediate conflicting requirements and make informed decisions based on analysis.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts within diverse teams, articulate technical issues clearly, and work collaboratively towards solutions.
  • Self-driven with the capacity to identify and resolve issues independently, while effectively managing resources to achieve project outcomes.
