Key Responsibilities:

 

Lead and manage the team of MTM Track and Civil Engineers by coaching and developing staff to achieve good quality outcomes for passengers and the MTM business.

 

Lead technical assurance on behalf of the MTM Chief Engineer relating to Track and Civil Engineering through:

  • Identifying the need for, reviewing, and endorsing Engineering Changes.
  • Developing and maintaining a set of contemporary Standards and Technical Documents.
  • Identify the need for, reviewing, and providing technical endorsement of safety and operational critical assets (Type/Product Approval).
  • Attendance at risk assessments and Safety in Design reviews to identify, mitigate, and ensure risks are being managed safe SFAIRP.
  • Providing technical advice on the acceptability of non-conformances to Standards (Waivers).
  • Monitor asset performance and identifying where Technical Investigations are required and ensuring the are completed in accordance with MTM Procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice relating to track management and supporting systems and tools, particularly to MTM Track Infrastructure (maintenance) team.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of all issues regarding the assigned tasks and promptly notify management of any matters which could have a material adverse effect on a project or the business.

 

About you:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Registered Practicing Engineer - Victoria (RPEV), or eligible for qualification.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Track Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with stakeholder engagement within multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Extensive experience in Track maintenance or construction.
  • Proven experience working with and influencing stakeholders.
  • History of driving cultural change within teams and with stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of Metro, its Operations and stakeholders.
