About the Role
The Technical Signalling Specialist position will support signal maintenance with investigations and faults. You will be the go to person to provide technical expertise across maintenance, renewals, upgrades and constructions works that fall under the Signal Maintenance discipline of Infrastructure.
This is a permanent position, based at West Melbourne/Docklands, working on-site across the Melbourne Metro Network. While majority of the work is Monday to Friday, some flexibility is required as some weekend may be required when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise for maintenance, renewals, upgrades, and construction works.
- Ensure works comply with Technical Maintenance and Annual Works Plans.
- Monitor work quality, conduct safety and signal observations, and enforce corrective actions as needed.
- Assist major project delivery through planning support, technical reviews, and quality reporting.
- Perform investigations, manage reports, support engineering approvals, and conduct risk assessments.
- Write technical document including work instruction and detailed fault reports.
About you
- Hold a technical tertiary qualification with technical rail signalling experience or Certificate IV in rail signalling.
- Significant experience providing technical signalling knowledge in a maintenance environment.
- Signalling design and commissioning experience with the ability to interpret and summarise technical documents and signal plans.
- Strong communication skills to interact with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to assess risks and implement corrective actions in line with the Technical Maintenance Plan.
- Support budgeting, financial planning, and scheduling to meet deadlines.
