About the role

 

The Track Force Protection Coordinator is responsible for the Safeworking planning, controlling and the ultimate responsibility of rail safety during track possessions.

 

In this position you will support the Structures team in the Infrastructure division providing access to the corridor and danger zone while they carry out visual inspections on a variety of structures including; bridges, buildings, overhead structures, platforms etc. You will also take part in the team’s monthly planning, aligning which assets need inspection and determining the necessary protective measures.

 

This is a 12 month contract position to cover parental leave starting January 2026. You will be working across the Metro network (predominately in the South East), Monday – Friday, 0700 – 1530 with flexibility required to work nights when required.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and Safeworking requirements.
  • Plan, supervise, and optimise Safeworking resources to safely and efficiently deliver maintenance, renewals, and upgrades.
  • Provide Safeworking advice, support procedural improvements, and build collaboration to maximise track time and productivity.
  • Participate in safety investigations and ensure correct Safeworking practices are applied by staff and contractors.

 

About you

 

  • Experience working in a similar rail safeworking position
  • MTM 3.1 or 3.2 TFPC qualification
  • Current and Valid Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Experience using an iPad to monitor and update work schedules
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
