We’re currently seeking a STM Mechanical to join our team based at the new Kananook Depot.

The role is responsible for performing a variety of tasks including inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of suburban train fleet vehicles. The primary objective is to support the safe, reliable, and punctual operation of the train fleet by ensuring all mechanical systems are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Examination tasks including train modifications.
  • Service Fleet Rotating machines as well as check and repair Fleet Air and Brake Systems.
  • Check and service coupler and electrical equipment, clean and maintain the depot workspace and service Fleet rotating machines.
  • Change major Fleet Components.
  • Attend to derailments, collisions, pantograph entanglements, fatalities and other mishaps involving trains.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Trade qualified as an Mechanical Fitter
  • Demonstrated minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience within a maintenance environment is expected
  • Able and prepared to work day/afternoon/night shifts including weekends and public holidays as required
  • Current Victorian Drivers License
