About the Role
Reporting to the Production Coordinator and Depot Manager, the purpose of this position is to perform a range of activities including; examination, servicing, maintenance and repair on suburban train fleet vehicles to ensure as far practicable the safe, reliable and on time running of the train fleet. Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Undertake safety procedures
- Perform Examination tasks
- Perform train modifications as required
- Service Fleet Rotating machines
- Check and repair Fleet Air and Brake Systems
- Check and service coupler and electrical equipment
- Clean and maintain the depot workspace
- Service Fleet rotating machines
- Perform duties in accordance with Metro's Quality System
- Change major Fleet Components
About You
Your profile must adhere to the following requirements:
Education and Certification
- Trade qualified as an Mechanical Fitter
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Previous experience within a maintenance environment is expected
- Able and prepared to work day/afternoon shifts including weekends and public holidays as detailed in the briefing you have received
- Valid Australian Drivers License
Should you be successful you must obtain and maintain:
- Certified in Track Safety Awareness (Level 1)
- TTSA – Train Track Safety Awareness (Level 3)
- Rail Safety Competency and Medical Assessment (Category 3)
- Qualified First Aid Level 2
Skills and experience:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Previous experience within a maintenance environment
- Demonstrated expertise within either a rail/ automotive and/or avionics environment
- Flexibility to varying shifts as detailed in the briefing you have received, which includes the weekend and public holidays as required as detailed in the Enterprise Agreement.
