About the Role
We are seeking a Storeperson to support the Fleet Maintenance program by ensuring parts and consumables are available when required.
This role is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and managing inventory while adhering to Metro processes, safety standards, and business requirements to support efficient fleet maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and accurately process stock and non-stock deliveries, including managing defective or damaged goods.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through stock storage, stock control, cyclic stocktakes, and system updates in Ellipse.
- Issue, transfer, and source parts and consumables to support maintenance activities across depots and warehouses.
- Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, and Metro-supplied vehicles in a safe manner.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment in line with Metro policies and procedures.
- Build effective working relationships with technicians, supervisors, and team members to support operational requirements.
- Comply with all safety, legislative, regulatory, and operational requirements while achieving key performance targets.
About You
- Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or inventory management environment.
- Current Forklift Licence and valid Australian Driver's Licence.
- Experience using inventory management systems, preferably Ellipse.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Ability to identify and interpret parts and materials accurately.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Certificate III in Warehousing, TTSA (Train Track Safety Awareness), or similar qualifications are advantageous.
