About the position
You’ll be out and about inspecting vegetation and investigating customer complaints around the Melbourne Train Network. This is a safety critical position that will involve providing data and completing reports to ensure compliance for electrical clearances and high risk bushfire areas. This is a position where you’ll make a difference in our green spaces to keep Melbourne commuters moving safely.
- Permanent, full time or part time position
- Monday – Friday, some overtime may be required as needed on weekends
- Working at various locations across the Melbourne Metro Train Network
Key Responsibilities
- Completing inspections, customer complaints, signal/crossing inspections, safety issues and report findings MTM data and inspection systems
- Analysing data to provide recommendations on safety issues, work programs and priority work
- Supervising contractors and ensuring high quality works in line with MTM procedures and AS 4373-2007
- Plan work access to maximise efficiency onsite, while following all necessary safety guidelines
- Respond to emergency faults when needed, suggest solutions and make the area safe when possible
Skills and Experience
- Cert III in Arboriculture, current ESI Worker Card and experience working in a similar position
- Demonstrated planning and scheduling skills and the ability to work independently
- Proven ability to problem solve in challenging situations to ensure the rail network stays operational
- Ability to adapt to use a variety of IT applications and devices
- A current Full Victorian Driver’s Licence
