About the role

Infrastructure has two positions for an Asset Estimators to join the team, that will be responsible for determining the net asset change, labour and cost impacts to Infrastructure inspections and maintenance activities delivered from Projects.

You’ll work closely with a range of different stakeholders across the business to document the proposed Infrastructure changes. Whilst ensuring continuous improvement approaches to allow safe operation of assets to minimise infrastructure vulnerabilities.

We have 2 full-time max-term until December 2026 and April 2027, opportunities based out at E-Gate.

Key Responsibilities

  • You’ll be a subject matter expertise on the relevant net asset changes, effort, labour, access and travel factors and any other associated impacts
  • Manage stakeholders expectations for asset class estimations and associated strategic content is effectively costed
  • Generate Target Cost Estimates for the business using the MTM estimating templates.
  • Ability to review MTM Engineering Asset Change Records (EACRs), extract net asset change data, and validate changes using supporting documentation such as As-Built drawings, red or yellow mark-ups, and spatial data platforms
  • You’ll work in conjunction with the finance team to review expenses and validate incurred non-asset-related cost and support with the preparation of variations claims
  • Participate in estimate reviews with Estimating team including presentation of estimates
  • Prepare documents and reports that are necessary for the proper review of Estimating.
  • Ensure all reports are sufficiently detailed and comprehensive such that all project relevant maintenance activities are accounted for.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering/Sciences or Business management desirable.
  • Technical Experience and knowledge in Estimating /Quantity Surveying / Cost Control / Cost Planning or similar, ideally in a rail, (transport or safety critical organisation), or maintenance environment.
  • Experience and knowledge in Asset Management and/or the management of physical assets and or/ Project completion process an advantage.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications with advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Experience in use of Power BI and dashboarding is an advantage.
  • Skilled in the collection, analysis and written presentation of complex asset information.
  • Ability to relate with a diverse range of stakeholders, hold constructive conversations and earn stakeholder trust and cooperation.
