To coordinate lifecycle cost (LCC) asset models across all infrastructure asset types. Provide strategic advice to Asset Managers to develop, refine and improve asset class lifecycle strategies and infrastructure works plans based on outputs from the models. This position is the central subject matter expert on LCC, and is responsible for the building and continuous enhancement of the lifecycle cost model framework.

 

Functional responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise to relevant Asset Strategy Specialists on whole of life asset class strategies. Contribute to supporting strategic operational planning, assessment and forecasting
  • Actively seek and manage stakeholder expectations, internal and external, to ensure the whole of life cost model outputs creates opportunities for the business, with the right balance of controls and risk mitigation
  • Support and guide stakeholders through the annual works program data updates to ensure the asset management data is fit for purpose.
  • Make recommendations to the Asset Management & Compliance Manager on opportunities for improvement, especially regarding models and capabilities, especially for re-occurring matters and matters where the specialist has been heavily involved and or devising the proposed changes
  • Be the conduit between the infrastructure delivery managers and asset strategists to ensure robust mechanisms and lines of communication exist relating to data quality, change approvals and benefit realisation
  • Monitor overall asset condition deterioration curves and develop more sophisticated modelling capabilities.
  • Work with the other parts of the business to raise awareness of whole of life cost management

 

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Experience in developing and implementing lifecycle cost models across a range of asset types
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and modelling software
  • Drive and passion to create and maintain methodical and efficient processes and deliver accurate information
  • Effective influencing, persuading and negotiation skills
  • Skilled in the collection, analysis and written presentation of complex asset information
  • Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to
  • Ability to relate with a diverse range of stakeholders, hold constructive conversations and earn stakeholder trust and cooperation
  • Autonomous, resilient, inclusive and focussed working style
