Position Purpose Statement
Reporting to the Business Resilience Manager, the Business Resilience Specialist contributes to the development and maintenance of the MTM Enterprise Business Resilience Program and processes. This is a ‘hands-on’ role and primarily includes the development and/or review of plans and procedures, supporting other departments and divisions in their development of emergency management capability and collaborating with emergency services.
About the Role
Some of the duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Business Resilience Manager in the satisfactory completion of all obligations associated with the designation of the metropolitan rail network as vital critical infrastructure per the Emergency Management Act 2013 and other legal, regulatory and Franchise obligations.
- Coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of an annual familiarisation program for emergency services, as it relates to their preparedness for emergencies that may occur on the MTM network.
- Implement and support an emergency planning model for MTM stations.
- Develop and report on an emergency management assurance program encompassing related activity occurring at stations, during exercises and after incidents.
- Review and provide feedback on related plans and procedures developed by other departments and divisions.
About You (Key Criteria)
To be considered for this role, you need to demonstrate a range of experience by responding to the following Key Criteria:
- Qualification in Emergency Management, Safety, Risk Management or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years emergency management experience
- Practical experience in applying risk and emergency management principles in an operational setting
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations and legislation that relate to safety and emergency management
- Experience providing service across and working with multiple business areas in a large organisation
- Experience in stakeholder management including the ability to influence without authority.
- Ability to operate under pressure
- Ability to recognise competing requirements and prioritise accordingly
