The Business and Commercial Analyst is responsible for providing in-depth commercial analysis through reviewing commercial contracts for the development of contractual claims and variations and leading the end-to-end process of claims, from investigation, financial modelling, to the approval by the Department of Transport.
Reporting to the OCMS Contractual Claims Manager, this role will collaborate across internal teams to collect the necessary information and develop complex financial models to present and submit variations claims to the Department of Transport to reach commercial outcomes.
This is a 2 year opportunity located at 700 Collins Street at our headoffice in Docklands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Commercial and financial analysis to support OCMS strategic priorities.
- Quality checks and validating claim Net Financial Impacts including the identification of cost areas.
- Development of variation claims, through investigation of financial analysis, contracts, and other data sources, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of financial matters
- Engage key stakeholders across the team, division, and broader organisation to collate the required information for claims.
- Validation and collation of actual costs for preparation of claims.
- Manage delivery pipeline to progress against plan and ensure timely delivery and take effective remedial action as required.
- Financial modelling experience.
- Preparing reporting for forecasts and actuals of claims completed.
- Submission of the annual forecast to the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP)
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary qualification in Financial or Business Management.
- Ability to analyse data and write and present reports, undertake and complete complex tasks.
- Experience with commercial contracts.
- Ability to understand and review commercial contracts for financial and forecasting.
- Experience and knowledge of key accounting concepts.
- Experience with the preparation and collation of financial information.
- Development of complex financial models or operational performance reporting.
- Knowledge of technology assets, asset lifecycle preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with data modelling and dashboard creation.
- Ability to automate tasks using VBA or macros.
- Experience with Power Query and Power BI integration.
