Operation and Maintenance Delivery Manager

The Metro Tunnel Project is being delivered in three work packages, with a program level team (RPVP) assisting each package. The three work packages are: Rail Systems Alliance, Rail Infrastructure Alliance and the Tunnels and Stations Public Private Partnership. We are currently looking for an Operations and Maintenance Delivery Manager to join RSA Alliance Work Package. 


The Role
The Operations and Maintenance Delivery Manager’s responsibility is to ensure the effective management of Operational and Maintenance Engagement and Integration activities during the project lifecycles for the systems and processes that will be introduced. They will be required to manage interfacing activities within MTM, lead change management to support best for project and business outcomes.  They will also be engaging with the wider MTM business to ensure effective management of risks associated with MTM end user acceptance. 


Responsibilities

  • Managing the Operations & Maintenance support and input as part of the RSA Tunnels Workstream also known as RSA Stage 9 
  • Managing the interface between the RSA Tunnels Workstream and the Operations & Maintenance Integration Team to ensure alignment and shared understanding of solutions and plans. 
  • Managing the Operations & Maintenance input into the planning and execution of the operational testing and procedure validation exercises including the establishment and coordination of the Operational Testing Teams. 
  • Managing the relationship with the MTM Tunnel and Stations Team to ensure coordination of MTM operational approvals and user acceptance. 
  • Managing the relationship with the MTM Business to ensure effective management of Industrial Relations, Staff recruitment, Operational strategies, Staff training, Operations equipment and Emergency preparedness including the transition from project to operational mode applicable to Stage 9 scope. 
  • Managing the development and maintenance of effective relationships with key stakeholders and MTM internal project groups, operations, maintenance, infrastructure and other associated parties in order to meet project targets objectives and milestones. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to deliver a safe outcome when implementing the various systems into the operating railway and delivery the Operations & Maintenance Integration Team commitments for this stage of the overall project ensuring all is ready for Day1 operation. 
  • Manage specific MTM network operations tasks related to the Project including the customer service interface elements of the project on behalf of the Operations & Maintenance Integration Manager to ensure the timely execution and completion of such tasks in accordance with the delivery programme and cost parameters. 
  • Aligning the team to Metro’s strategic plan and business objectives in enabling resourcing, performance, capability and wellbeing to foster a high-performance team. 

 

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or equivalent 
  • Extensive experience in a railway system operational environment 
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management or equivalent 
  • Experience in risk assessments at a project level 
  • Ability to identify and assess functional specifications for compliance 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and leading high performing teams 
  • Ability to work unsupervised 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff (verbal and written) 
  • Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence opinions 
  • Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to
