The Metro Tunnel Project is being delivered in three work packages, with a program level team (RPVP) assisting each package. The three work packages are: Rail Systems Alliance, Rail Infrastructure Alliance and the Tunnels and Stations Public Private Partnership
  

We are currently looking for an astute Signaling Superintendent to join the Disruptions team on the Rail Systems Alliance Work Package. 


The Role
The Signaling Superintendent is responsible for supporting and managing the interface between Design, HV Planning and Construction. They will support the identification and mitigation of risks prior to works commencing, relaying and engaging with relevant stakeholders to come up with best practices for project outcomes. 


Responsibility

  • Effective Interface to MTM Infrastructure during Design Phase
  • Contribute to Safety in Design Workshops, Early Commencement of Works Assessments and Detailed Design Reviews - Maintainability
  • Contribute to Detailed Design reviews – Maintainability and Constructability
  • Ensure MTM Infrastructure is engaged in reviews early to help ensure design acceptance
  • Effective Interface to MTM during Construction & Commissioning Phase:
  • Support construction activities ensuring quality of ongoing works are in line with MTM standards.
  • Co-ordinate with MTM to ensure acceptance into service.
  • Support construction to facilitate onsite changes or modifications to designs and manage the MTM interface for acceptance.
  • Commissioning and Occupation Support and Planning ensure early identification of critical resources and efficient allocation for works.
  • Support Handover and MTM Acceptance including the defect and liability period.
  • Co-ordination with other MTM projects and Infrastructure works, leverage cross project resources, knowledge and lessons learnt. 
  • Ensure MTM procedures or safety, environmental and quality are followed on site for all construction activities.
  • Co-ordinate and support quality inspections for to assist handover of assets to the testing team, to ensure final MTM acceptance.
  • Support Signalling Commissioning between Alliance work packages, planning and execution. 
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to the SHEQ Cultural Framework, policies, Safety Essentials and Management System requirements and expectations;
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of SHEQ hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks;
  • Understand and effectively undertake SHEQ accountabilities.

 

About You

  • RIW Cert 3 Rail Infrastructure registered
  • Signalling Maintenance Technician qualification or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within Rail Industry or similar multi-discipline industry
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Signalling construction and maintenance with current technologies
  • Technical competency and understanding of current Rail Infrastructure construction and maintenance
  • Sound legislative knowledge (OHS Safety) 
  • Sound Rail Safety knowledge 
  • Sound Signalling High Voltage knowledge and competencies in HV testing
  • Sound experience in a railway system operation, design or project management environment
