About the team

 

Corporate Services teams at Metro are responsible for providing essential support services that enable the business to function efficiently and effectively. From Safety and People, Marketing and Communication, to Finance and Legal, and IT. Our Corporate Services teams work collaboratively to ensure that the business operates smoothly and as one team.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Lead to support the Metro Tunnel transition readiness activities, with a focus on OPEX forecasting and Contract Variationrecovery. This role plays an integral part in negotiating and influencing process and system changes with our stakeholders to ensure governance and controls are in place for any claims being made.

 

This role will also support the wider team with their readiness activities related to upstream and downstream requirements.

 

Please note this role is a full time fixed - term period until June 2025. 

 

About the role

 

  • You’ll Lead and manage  the Contract Variation process as set out in within the current Franchise agreement for adjustment events
  • Utilise your influencing skills and negotiate with our internal and external stakeholders regarding process, system and model changes for Contract Variation including substantiations and settlement timing as well as achieving client endorsement of budgeted items
  • You’ll ensure that internal governance and controls are designed and rolled out prior to claims being made
  • Collaborate with the wider business to ensure alignment with our commercial readiness plans with providing financial and commercial analysis and reporting
  • You’ll them manage and lead analysis and reporting of established business process and provide guidance on changes for continuous improvement activities
  • Lead your team of for preparation of all Contract Variation, forecast and annual Client budget.

 

About you

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business or Program Management
  • Strong experience within Finance/Business Analyst roles
  • Communicate with influence with a range of different stakeholders across the wider business
  • Proven analytical background
  • Have a advanced Excel Skills
  • Experience in the preparation and collation of financial information
  • Experience in implementing financial & business process changes in key accounting concepts
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff (verbal and written)
