We have two new 12-month contract positions to support one of Metro’s busiest and most exciting periods. These roles sit within our Corporate Affairs team and offer flexible working arrangements, with three days in the office and two days from home.
This is a great chance to contribute to making Melbourne’s rail network safer, more efficient and ready for the future as we deliver major transport infrastructure and improvement projects.
Communications and Community Relations Advisor (700 Collins Street)
You’ll be supporting various Victorian Government projects, keeping Metro customers and local communities informed about station, facility and network improvements and delivering quality passenger communications to support planned disruptions. The role involves advocating on behalf of passengers and local communities to support successful project delivery.
Communications Advisor – Level Crossing Removal Project
In this position you will support the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) as part of the North Western Program Alliance. The role involves working across multiple sites, contributing to the successful delivery of Victoria’s Big Build infrastructure program.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver clear, timely information about planned works and disruptions; such as noise impacts, station precinct changes, and replacement buses.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders including Metro staff and government clients to minimise disruptions for rail passengers and local communities affected by planned works
- Coordinate project updates with the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) and other delivery partners.
- Ensure all communications adhere to brand and accessibility guidelines.
- Participate in planning meetings and working groups to support effective to help manage rail communications around upcoming works and major events.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, public relations, communications or similar, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build relationships and become a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders and clients.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing communication strategies and plans.
- Proven ability to deliver a range of communication materials for different audiences across digital channels.
