About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications and Community Relations Coordinator to join our team on a short-term basis for 9 months. In this role you’ll be responsible for supporting the Infrastructure Communications team with community engagement activities including developing accurate passenger, resident and trader communications in relation to MTM planned maintenance and renewal works.

Key Responsibilities

  • You’ll support the development and delivery of communication plans, materials for staff, passengers and the wider community to provide information on network disruptions
  • Provide consistency in preparation and dissemination of appropriate works notifications in accordance with our Franchise agreement, and Transport Victoria’s guidelines
  • You’ll engage with internal and external stakeholders regarding any planned works
  • You’ll work closely with the disruptions team to support passenger information within a timely manner including any proactive social media or employee communications
  • Identify potential and emerging community issues and work with the Communications & Community Relations team to plan, agree and execute appropriate responses to community issues.

Qualifications

  • Experience in customer facing communications, community relations, stakeholder engagement, issues management, internal communications or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communications strategies and plans
  • Proven ability to deliver a range of communications materials for different audiences
  • Ability to interpret complex technical information and communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Community Planning, Marketing or other related discipline is preferable or equivalent work experience Demonstrated understanding of digital communications channels Strong negotiation and relationship-building  skills.
