As the Level Crossing Removal Project continues to deliver a safer and more efficient train network, the Metro team involved in this large-scale project is expanding to respond to current and future works. Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) are currently seeking a Project Completions Engineer for work on our Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), on the South Eastern Program Alliance!

 

About the role:  

 

The Completions Engineer will support the completion and integrity of asset information to ensure that asset handover is safe, compliant and integrates with the network in accordance with Metro’s requirements in support of Victoria’s ‘Big Build’ Infrastructure Program.  

 

Reporting to the Completions Manager, this role will work within the Level Crossing removal team located in  Mont Albert with some work from project locations required in and around Croydon and Ringwood.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Apply project management knowledge and skills, tools and methodologies throughout all stage of the project life cycle including selecting the appropriate equipment, resources, services and techniques
  • Identify and resolve process and operational issues with relevant stakeholders to ensure project Integration can be accomplished to agreed performance characteristics.
  • Ensure contractors and/or delivery partners to provide completions artefacts to agreed standard
  • Provide training/support to contractors to achieve MTM/DOT completion requirements
  • Provision of management reports as required
  • Ensure adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements as well as internal processes and guidelines.
  • Manage a variety of internal stakeholder groups to coordinate the close out of completions deliverables within agreed timeframes, the collection and collation of asset data, issue resolution
  • Manage asset approval processes and ensure close out documentation and drawings are finalised in order to achieve project close out and sign off

 

 

About You: 

 

  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering or equivalent
  • Previous experience in similar role within Completions advantageous
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff (verbal & written)
  • Demonstrated experience using a high level of accuracy and working to tight timescales 
  • Past experience working within construction / rail environment advantageous
