About the role
The Fleet Operations Support Specialist (FOSS) plays a critical role in supporting the safe and reliable delivery of timetable services across all MTM fleets. Acting as the key interface between Metrol, Network Operations, and Rolling Stock, the role provides real-time technical insight and decision support during peak periods, special events, and incidents to minimise service disruption and reputational risk.
Leveraging extensive rolling stock and operational experience, alongside Metro tools and processes, the FOSS contributes to effective timetable delivery by providing near real-time fleet insights. This enables informed decision-making to help prevent operational incidents and support the safe and timely recovery of services when disruptions occur.
The role also supports operational resilience, continuous improvement, and business continuity by ensuring fleet operations are maintained under degraded and contingency conditions.
