About the position
You’ll join our friendly Facilities department, a dedicated team who take pride in keeping MTM facilities safe, clean and welcoming for commuters and employees across the rail network – from train stations to carparks, Metro depots and structures.

Permanent, full-time position (2 positions available in a new team)

Monday – Friday, 7am-3.30pm

Working at various locations across the Melbourne Metro Train Network

Opportunity to be working on the tools in a leading hand position
Key Responsibilities
-
Follow a daily works schedule, working with and supporting a Maintenance Assistant
-
Station inspections and general building maintenance including fixing doors, gates, fencing, basic plumbing and carpentry work as well as renewals work
-
Prioritise urgent and emergency work requests
-
Manage tools and consumable stock levels to complete work schedules

Follow safety protocols while working near train tracks

Weekly reporting requirements
Skills and Experience
-
Qualification in a Building Trade or a Cert III or higher in civil construction e.g., carpentry, plumbing
-
Strong experience in inspection, general maintenance, and repair of buildings/civil structures for a commercial organisation

Demonstrated leadership skills
-
Proven planning, scheduling, or time management skills
-
Basic IT skills with portable devices (iPad) and Microsoft Office
-
A current Full Victorian Driver’s Licence

Starting salary: $58.21 per hour + super (OTE approx. $120k + super)

Guaranteed salary increases twice a year (as per Enterprise Agreement)
