About the role

This will include facilitating a seamless relationship within Southern Program Alliance(SPA) to achieve continuous reduction of risk exposure and management of HF requirements while having a proactive approach to human system integration, with the primary aim being to inform Design at the earliest opportunities.

 

This role is embedded within SPA and will report into the System Safety Assurance Lead on a day-to-day basis and will work closely with the Project’s Design team & Quality functions.

We are seeking an experienced Human Factors Advisor to support Southern Program Alliance to carry out activities aligned with the Human Factors Integration Plan (HFIP) to ensure the seamless facilitation of continuous reduction of risk exposure and management of human factors requirements. You’ll proactively approach to human systems integration at the earliest opportunity.

This is a short-term role for 12 months based out of our Moorabbin office.

Key Responsibilities

  • You’ll lead the development, review and ongoing improvement of HF integration assurance framework at a program level to ensure alignment with Metro HFIP
  • Be an active participant in risk assessments and design review to support HF integration within safety assurance including tracking, mitigation of risks and controls and contributing to HFI activities for Design Report and Design Packs
  • Provide continuous improvements with HF integration and focus on  Human Factors Assessment task e.g error analysis, workload assessment
  • You’ll Establish and maintain program-level Human Factors Issues Registers to capture emerging and residual HF risks.
  • Prepare complex HF integration and assurance reports, including lessons learned, for RTOs such as MTM, ARTC, and V/Line.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, Engineering or a related field.
  • Advanced or Post- Graduate qualifications in Human Factors
  • Sound knowledge of the following HF capabilities required to deliver, influence and lead business outcomes: HF Integration, HF Engineering, HF Assurance , Safety Culture & Behaviour, HF Training, HF Safety Critical Communications
  • In addition, knowledge of relevant HF standards, RSNL and WHS legislation.  This may include: ISO 9241-Part 10, integrating Human Centred Design, Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (OHS Act) , Rail Safety National Law and Regulations
  • Extensive experience in the application of HF methods and knowledge in one or more of the following industries: rail, aviation, resources, energy, mining and/or resources.
  • Experience in leading large-scale and complex projects in the application of HF integration principles and methods
