The Project

 

We are currently seeking an Engineering Interface Manager to play a key role in The Level Crossing Removal (MLXRT) Project team across various projects within the Alliances.

This newly created role is an excellent opportunity to be part of a large-scale project which will benefit train users, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers by improving safety, reducing congestion and enabling more frequent train services.

 

 

The Role

 

To play a key role in the MLXRT Project team by acting as the focal point for all engineering, standard waivers and management of change matters in the delivery of large-scale rail infrastructure projects.

A key focus of this role is to work effectively with all relevant stakeholders and striving for the best business optimisation of the Program Alliance & MTM.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Consult with all stakeholders and interested parties to achieve practical and industrial harmony or to resolve grievances
  • Identify and resolve issues associated with Scope, Design, Estimation, Scheduling, Risk Management
  • Interface with colleagues on a common project with a "best for the business" approach to problem-solving
  • Work with the projects’ design team and rail disruptions team to ensure associated engineering documentation is completed in accordance with the MTM rail disruption procedures
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in order to meet project targets, objectives and milestones related to the projects’ engineering deliverables
  • Participate in the design review forums to ensure MTM customer service and operational needs are met and assist with the management of change processes including attendance at risk assessment workshops and risk review forums
  • Prepare and maintain all required documentation and records to facilitate and progress the project throughout the project life of the project cycle.
  • Review and determine safe construction processes across projects, minimising impacts to stakeholders and the environment
  • Assessing the Commercial/Financial aspects of the project to understand the financial impact on changes to engineering, systems etc
  • Facilitating the integration and functionality of a system architecture to meet the RAMS requirements set by LXRP.
  • Any other duties as specified by your manager

 

 

 

 

About You 

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering with corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers (Australia)
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management
  • Experience working in multiple discipline projects in short and tight timelines within a major project environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication & stakeholder management skills with the ability to resolve both technical and general issues with stakeholders
  • Confident leading meetings and bringing stakeholders together
  • Experience conducting risk assessments at a project level
  • Ability to collect, analyse and present workplace data and information in reports
  • Demonstrate a proactive, self-managed approach to work
  • Skilled In managing competing demands with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to identify and assess functional specifications for compliance
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence opinions
