Join our Audit and Risk team as an Internal Audit Manager, where you will provide support with the delivery of internal audit as part of Metro’s strategy and key risks. You’ll be responsible for managing and executing projects that will be independent, objective and at an advisory level to ensure continuous improvement for efficiencies and effectiveness for operations.

In this role you will lead a small team of Auditors to help build their capabilities and provide guidance where appropriate  

 

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement and is based at our Docklands head office.

 

Key role responsibilities

  • You’ll schedules and plans audits; initiates project planning, assess risk and develops audit direction.
  • Lead reviews across the business, including ad hoc reviews upon management request and assist with fraud investigations
  • Lead and develop the objectives, scope and approach of each engagement, within the scope of the overall internal audit plan
  • Manages performance of audit assignments, reviews workpapers and audit reports
  • You’ll lead a small team of Auditors to support and the planning and delivery of audits to drive quality outcomes
  • Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of internal control processes over key business process risks
  • Undertake advisory work supporting the business in the delivery of its objectives.
  • Support whistleblower investigations

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • Degree qualification in accounting or a related field
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or working towards qualification
  • Extensive experience working as an Internal Audit and/or Financial Accounting experience including experience in process improvement
  • Experience leading a team of Auditors
  • Communicate with influence with a range of different stakeholders across a multi-disciplinary business
  • Strong experience with developing reports, dashboards and scope documentation
  • Undertake advisory work supporting the business in the delivery of its objectives.
  • You'll provide support with whistleblower investigations
