Join our Audit and Risk team as an Internal Auditor, where you will play a key role in executing the annual and three-year strategic internal audit plan, ensuring MTM’s assurance requirements are met. You will collaborate with Management to review systems and operations, assessing how effectively risks are managed, verifying the implementation of proper processes, and ensuring adherence to agreed procedures. Additionally, you will identify opportunities for greater efficiency, innovation, and stronger controls, supporting the rollout of new or enhanced business practices.

 

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement and is based at our Docklands head office.

 

 

Key role responsibilities

 

  • Analyse business processes to identify and assess how material risks are mitigated and whether improvements are necessary
  • Apply the practice standards of the Australian Institute of Internal Auditors
  • Appraise requirements and make recommendations in respect to work methods and techniques
  • Provide input for the development of the annual Audit Program
  • Assist with the implementation of Internal Audit recommendations across the business
  • Liaise with external auditors/ stakeholders as necessary
  • Prepare and maintain Internal Audit deliverables including working papers, reports, audit actions, status updates and analysis of key trends
  • Provide advice to internal customers on appropriate internal controls and processes
  • Provide assistance with the development and updating of the Enterprise Risk Register as required, including identification and analysis of risks

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • Degree qualification in accounting or a related field
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or working towards qualification
  • Minimum 5 years Internal Audit and/or Financial Accounting experience including experience in process improvement
