ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Lineworker to join our Electrical Networks team. In this hands-on role, you’ll report to the OH Team Leader and be responsible for electrical clearance measurements, routine and reactive maintenance, renewals, and upgrade works. You’ll work across the traction overhead network, HV AC transmission system, and electrolysis overhead assets to keep our network safe, reliable, and fit for purpose.

We are looking for someone who is committed to safety, willing to work in a physically demanding environment, and able to work as part of a tight-knit team to keep our network running.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out maintenance, repairs, inspections and renewals on traction overhead, HV AC and electrolysis overhead systems.
  • Assist with upgrades, new works and project tasks as required.
  • Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and live electrical work (including authorised switching).
  • Complete required paperwork such as reports, timesheets, material returns and incident documentation.
  • Follow all safety rules, standards and procedures, and ensure hazards are identified and controlled.
  • Operate and maintain tools, small plant and vehicles including cherry pickers, tippers, tool trucks and EWPs.
  •  Support your team by communicating clearly, coordinating on-site activities and providing on-the-job guidance when needed.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by leaders or management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Certificate III in ESI – Rail Traction Linework (VET30712)
  • Track Safety Awareness (Level 1) – Preferred

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven experience as a Lineworker in an urban rail environment
  • Strong knowledge of overhead wiring systems, materials, installation and clearances
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and technical documents
  • Hold a current Victorian manual driver’s licence
