Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) are currently recruiting for a Mental Health & Wellbeing Specialist to join the Safety & People team.

 

As an experienced Mental Health and Wellbeing professional your role will be to support the planning, implementation and maintenance of mental health and wellbeing programs, initiatives, and frameworks to enhance employee wellbeing, contribute to a psychologically healthy and safe workplace, and embed a culture of care across MTM. 

 

This is a permanent position based in our head office in the CBD (hybrid). Metro values face to face collaboration with an expectation that employees will be in the office three days per week. Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support the implementation of enterprise-wide wellbeing initiatives aligned to the Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy. 
  • Support the rollout of psychosocial risk management assessments and action planning processes in partnership with the broader Safety and People teams. 
  • Coordinate and deliver mental health and wellbeing events and campaigns.  
  • Act as a first point of contact for employees seeking guidance on wellbeing resources and pathways.
  • Coordinate and promote employee access to mental health and wellbeing services (e.g. EAP, peer support programs, and mental health workshops). 
  • Provide SME advice and guidance for the development of mental health and wellbeing training, tools, and resources. 
  • Support the facilitation of seeking business feedback to evaluate and report the impact of mental health and wellbeing initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with external mental health and wellbeing providers to coordinate and promote services. 
  • Stay informed on mental health and wellbeing research and trends so that best practice approaches can be integrated into MTM initiatives. 

 

About You: 

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Experience in understanding and articulating the business value of employee wellbeing and leveraging this value to drive people leader commitment and advocacy for wellness initiatives. 
  • Ability to build strong and trusting relationships at all organisational levels.  
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to persuade and negotiate with stakeholders.   
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances.  
  • Good data and analytical skills with the ability to review data and present it in a format that tells a story to the business.  
  • Ability to remain impartial while showing empathy, and to maintain discretion and confidentiality.  
  • Ability to prepare engaging presentations and documents to support people initiatives.
