About the role

The Projects People Partnering team has an exciting opportunity for a People Business Partner to support our Engineering Assets & Assurance division. In this role, you will partner closely with leaders across the employee lifecycle, providing strategic and operational people support that enables business success.

Working alongside the Senior People Partner and Head of People, you will play a key role in delivering our People Strategy, driving impactful people initiatives and programs that enhance capability, engagement, performance and culture across the division.

As a trusted advisor, you will embed yourself within the leadership team, building strong stakeholder relationships and providing coaching, guidance, and support on a broad range of people matters. You will take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to strengthen leadership capability, foster a high-performing culture and support organisational effectiveness.

Operating with a strong One Team mindset, you will collaborate across People teams and business stakeholders to deliver consistent and commercially focused people solutions, while ensuring alignment with Metro Trains Melbourne policies and processes

Key Responsibilities

  • You’ll work closely with the Senior People Business Partner to contribute to the People Plan and ensure of the delivery of the plan to align with Metro’s wider People and Business strategy
  • Support business transformations by delivering the appropriate organisational designs and implementations to enhance business performance and effectiveness
  • You’ll coach and support managers with appropriate knowledge to lead and manage their teams
  • Establish and maintain influential relationships with clients to help guide positive employee interactions and outcomes.
  • Providing operational advice, coaching, consultancy, and guidance to leaders, including participation in leadership meetings, workshops and forums.
  • Analyse data to derive insights that will influence decision-making. This may include providing reports on people trends and metrics to enable leaders to make informed people decisions.
  • Coaching leaders in the development of their interpersonal and people leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR Management, or relevant discipline 
  • Proven experience working within a People business partnership model
  • Strong proven experience working with and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Sound experience working in a complex, people functional service model in a mid-large sized corporate matrixed organisation  
  • Strong business consulting/partnering experience and driving change programs
  • Able to build trusted relationships and have an approachable, engaging and friendly demeanour
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant industrial awards, industrial relations and WorkCover policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting the implementation and delivery of People programs and projects 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
