People Lead

As the People Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the people strategy for a critical project. About the Role:

Are you passionate about empowering people, driving meaningful change, and shaping the future of work? We’re looking for a dynamic People Lead to join an exciting project at Metro. This isn’t your typical HR role – it’s your chance to be at the heart of a major transformation and leading the charge in redesigning end to end people change processes, uplifting leadership capability, and embedding real, lasting change. What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and implement the Project People Plan, aligning it with broader organisational goals and partnering closely with key stakeholders.
  • Drive change communications, ensuring employees are informed, supported, and engaged throughout the journey.
  • Proactively manage change, using your experience to develop change impact assessments and readiness planning.
  • Support organisational capability, including capability assessments.
  • Champion employee engagement and wellbeing, fostering a positive culture and supporting leaders.
  • Design and improve people processes, ensuring all processes can meet the needs of the function and are aligned with the broader management systems.
  • Provide expert HR advice, including coaching leaders and supporting complex employee relations and industrial relations matters.
  • Lead investigations within the function, ensuring compliance with Metro’s policies and frameworks.

 

 

You’ll be a great fit if you are someone who:

  • thrives in a fast-paced, transformation-focused environment and knows how to balance big-picture thinking with sharp attention to detail.
  • has strong experience as a HR Generalist; and with a background in supporting major change and transformation.
  • You bring analytical smarts, a knack for problem-solving, and the confidence to develop clear, practical procedures.
  • A natural communicator who can engage stakeholders at all levels and manage competing priorities with ease.
  • Safety Focussed and safety is second nature to you - you’re committed to fostering a safe, positive culture in everything you do.
  • Thrives working both independently and collaboratively in a team, you get things done—and you do it with professionalism, precision, and a high level of fluency.
