About the Role
Reporting to the People Services Manager, the People Services Specialist provides high-quality employment administration advice and support to employees, leaders and People teams across Metro.
You’ll play an important role in delivering a responsive and customer-focused People service, maintaining accurate employee information and supporting a broad range of employee lifecycle activities. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and improving the way People services are delivered.
Please note: This is a Maximum Term opportunity - Immediate start to April 2027.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing advice and support on People policies, procedures, systems and employment-related matters.
- Managing employee lifecycle administration, including contracts, employment changes, leave arrangements, onboarding and organisational changes.
- Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of information within People systems.
- Monitoring service requests, completing regular audits and supporting compliance with industrial agreements, legislation and internal procedures.
- Identifying opportunities to improve People Services processes, systems and self-service resources.
About You
You are an organised and customer-focused People professional who communicates clearly, works collaboratively and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely support.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in HR or People administration, ideally within a complex organisation.
- A sound understanding of HR policies, employment practices, enterprise agreements and award interpretation.
- Strong attention to detail, time management and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience using HR information systems and Microsoft Office; SuccessFactors and payroll system experience will be highly regarded.
