Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced People Systems and Rewards Analyst to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing the administration of our reward programs and People systems, delivering insights that drive strategic decision-making and enhance employee engagement.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and support the planning, development, and execution of reward processes, including the annual remuneration review.
  • Design and deliver engaging communication materials to promote our remuneration and benefits offerings.
  • Coordinate salary benchmarking and market data analysis to support attraction, retention, and engagement strategies.
  • Provide tailored reporting and insights using data from SuccessFactors and integrated systems to support People and Rewards initiatives.
  • Develop self-service reporting tools using SuccessFactors Report Stories, Power BI, and Excel macros to improve reporting efficiency.
  • Administer recurring reward processes such as position grading, remuneration band reviews, out-of-cycle adjustments, non-monetary recognition, and other payments.
  • Accurately complete external remuneration and benefits surveys within required timeframes.
  • Conduct research to support the development of policies, procedures, and best practice recommendations in Systems and Rewards.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to help stakeholders understand and utilize People reporting tools effectively.
  • Support the Employee Benefits program, including providing data, program evaluation, and updating of internal platforms.

 

Skills and Experience

 

  • Tertiary qualification in HR, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in rewards, including salary reviews, bonus programs, benchmarking, and recognition initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of compensation frameworks and job evaluation systems (e.g., Mercer IPE).
  • Proven experience in remuneration and benefits strategy development and execution.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel (including macros), and other visualization platforms.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Workday) for system administration and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and recommend effective controls.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels.
  • Demonstrated initiative and innovation in managing complex systems and processes.
