About the Role
This role is a 2year Max Term contract.
Our Analytics Team, within the Performance, Planning and Reporting department are responsible for partnering with the rest of the division to understand business objectives and needs, solving problems, and answering questions through data and analytics.
The Performance Analyst role analyses and identifies trends in data to inform decision making in the short to medium term. This role will have a strong focus on future network changes and the analytics, reporting and insights leading up to and post this implementation.
Role duties and responsibilities include:

Analyse performance and success of changes, identify key learning's and assess impact of changes on performance, reliability and customer experience.

Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Assist in identifying improvement to train running reliability and service delivery performance in each of the operating groups.

Assist with daily and weekly forums to identify and resolve causes of delays to the network and improve cross-functional interdependencies.

Collect, analyse and establish trending patterns for train performance data available to MTM.

Develop methods of effectively communicating (including data visualisations) the plan including operating group performance results to each employee in that group e.g. Newsletter.

Ensure where possible improvement initiatives align with MTM business plan, the strategic operations plan and other business improvement initiatives.

Participate in and support MTM's ongoing business improvement process.

Review data sources and establish consistent measures and classification in each area of the operating group.
About You:
-
Tertiary qualification in Business, Science, Analytics or Engineering.

Experience in PowerBi and data visualisations through dashboarding.

Knowledge of SQL, R or Python.

Strong analytical skills to be able to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data.

Ability to translate and communicate complex technical information to various non-technical. stakeholders ensuring the information is understood.

Ability to work autonomously and in a team.

Previous experience in data analysis and reporting proficiencies to provide relevant information to influence business implementation of processes to create efficient outputs.

Previous experience in working with diverse stakeholders to deliver analytics.
-
Operations, public transport or rail industry experience is preferred.
