The Project

 

We are currently seeking a Planner to play a key role in The Level Crossing Removal (MLXRT) Project team across various projects within the Alliances.

This newly created role is an excellent opportunity to be part of a large-scale project which will benefit train users, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers by improving safety, reducing congestion and enabling more frequent train services.

 

 

The Role

 

In this role you will be responsible for creating and maintaining an hour by hour program using P6, working alongside the discipline leads you will be coordinating planned works and resources

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and maintain an hour by hour construction Program using P6
  • Create, monitor and modify workforce histogram for 1 month to 18 months prior to works
  • Analysis and report key occupation information back to the wider team Identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Interface with external work parties; Chair internal planning sessions with all disciplines to create a robust and realistic program in line with the works readiness timelines ensuring all construction works will be completed efficiently and safely so as not to delay the handover of the occupation
  • Actively involved in all occupation pre-planning sessions, lessons learnt and other sessions as required with the wider occupation and construction teams
  • Interface with representatives from all disciplines to create a robust and realistic program, ensuring resource requirements are clearly articulated
  • Contribute to the development of overall occupations strategy
  • Work collaboratively with the infrastructure resources supporting the team to develop resource planning schedules based on forecasted project program and workload
  • Analyse and report key workforce information back to the wider team, identifying opportunities for greater improvement
  • Any other duties as specified by your manager

 

 

About You 

 

  • Significant proven experience using P6 over several years and multiple projects
  • High level of experience in using Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Certified in Track Safety Awareness (Level 1)
  • Construction Induction Card
  • Experience in planning multi-discipline scope in short and tight timelines
  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of Program/Schedule and project control services for infrastructure and/or civil projects.
  • Knowledge of current planning cost control and project management techniques
  • Solid understanding of rail construction and railway operations
  • Rail Experience is preferred
  • Excellent communicator with all levels of management and staff, both verbal and written
  • Ability to plan and analyse occupations and write and present reports
  • Team player who can work in a close-knit team environment
