About the Role
As the Production Manager – Specialised Signals Works (SSW), you will play a key leadership role within the Track Renewals team, guiding the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of signalling support works. You will provide technical expertise in signalling systems, lead the planning and execution of SSW activities, and ensure operational excellence across all support functions.
You’ll oversee a dedicated team, fostering continuous improvement, innovation, and a strong safety culture. With your technical experience and collaborative leadership style, you will support the reliable delivery of renewals work across the network.
This role requires flexibility to work a combination of day and night shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership across and renewal activities across a large EA workforce, ensuring work meets Metro standards at all times.
- Support the efficient delivery of works through planning, project coordination, work methodology and on‑site guidance.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing innovations that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
- Oversee quality assurance, including monitoring work standards, managing corrective actions, and conducting technical investigations.
- Lead and develop the SSW support team, fostering a strong safety culture and supporting technical and professional development.
- Contribute to detailed planning activities, including access, resources, scope, cost, and scheduling to support the Annual Works Plan.

Qualifications & Technical Expertise
- Strong technical knowledge in signalling systems, signalling renewals, or related rail infrastructure disciplines.
- Experience in delivering maintenance or renewal works within a rail, civil, or heavy infrastructure environment.
- Demonstrated capability in risk assessment, safety management, and compliance with industry standards and procedures.
- Experience preparing and managing technical, quality, and safety documentation.
- A Victorian drivers licence.
