The Role

 

We are seeking an experienced Program SERQ Manager with strong stakeholder engagement skills to provide guidance on Safety, Environment, Risk and Quality for the Metro Tunnel Project. As part of the leadership team you will lead in the SERQ function reflected of the MTP Project strategy plan. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing divisional SERQ plans, including critical risks, Zero Harm behaviours, risk assurance and other compliance initiatives. You will ensure all safety aspects of the project are addressed and delivery packages are compliant with Metro Safety Management Systems and relevant legislation.

 

This role is a fulltime, max-term June 2025. As an MTM employee, you will have access to free travel along the network.  

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide specialist advice to stakeholders in relation to the execution of the change management framework whilst, including integration of project into rail operator network.

  • Develop and implement a MTP strategy which reflects the MTM Projects division SERQ plan including management of critical risks, Zero Harm behaviours, risk assurance and compliance, policies, best practices, and initiatives.

  • Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous SERQ improvements on the project

  • Work collaboratively with package teams and package SERQ managers to ensure strong safety management systems in place which comply with MTM’s responsibilities under its accreditation from ONRSR

  • Define and set objectives, targets and milestones and monitor actual SERQ performance and communicating with key stakeholders and the operations team regarding the operations of the roles area of responsibility

  • Provide leadership, training and capability building for all key stakeholders to ensure consistent application / compliance with divisional and corporate SERQ directions

  • Ensure project and business has the required documentation and quality processes in place to demonstrate compliance to Metro Safety Management System

  • Ensure that all investigation of incidents, ensuring that lessons learnt are captured and used in the continuous improvement process

 

About You

  • Professional qualifications in OH&S or a related discipline desirable or demonstrable professional experience

  • Have strong stakeholder engagement skills in complex project interfaces environments

  • Experience in coordinating and implementing SERQ systems and procedures to ensure that legislative requirements are met. Experience in carrying out risk assessment at a project level

  • Has extensive knowledge of principles of Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Has experience implementing risk management strategies at divisional or organisational level

  • Communicates with influence and positive change at all levels across the organisation

  • Demonstrated experience in presenting complex data and reports in a readily understandable way to customers, both internal and external
