As our MTM Project team grows, we are currently looking for an experienced Program SERQ Manager to join our Level Crossing Removal Portfolio (LXRP). As part of Victoria’s ‘Big Build’ Program, the Level Crossing team are integral to one of the largest rail infrastructure projects in the state's history. Central to the project is the elimination of 75 level crossings across metropolitan Melbourne by 2025, in addition to other rail network upgrades such as new train stations, track duplication and train stabling yards.

About the Role

 

The Program SERQ Manager champions and provides strategic leadership & direction in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the portfolios SERQ Plan.

 

  • Lead a team of safety professionals and be a major contributor as part of the MTM Level Crossing Removal Leadership Team
  • Define and set objectives, targets and milestones and monitor actual SERQ performance
  • Ensure system safety aspects of projects are addressed and projects are managed in compliance with Metro Safety Management System and relevant legislation.
  • Provide strategic support to MTM corporate and MTM’s business units on SERQ training, planned projects and initiatives, issue resolution, work-related injury reduction plans and compliance with company systems, policies and governmental and rail regulations
  • Ensure ongoing communication with key stakeholders (client, Alliance Partners etc) and the MTM Operations team regarding the operations area of responsibility
  • Provide leadership, training and capability building for all key stakeholders to ensure consistent application / compliance with divisional and corporate SERQ directions
  • In consultation with key stakeholders, develop and implement a SERQ continuous improvement process to build a culture of continuous improvement and innovative thinking

About your Experience

 

You will have at least 10 years’ experience managing complex rail projects and/or construction management teams within the SERQ environment. Along with your Tertiary qualification in OH&S or equivalent, you will possess significant leadership experience, operating at a senior level in a fast paced and changing environment. Your resilience and strength of character will be needed to influence, negotiate and deliver outcomes in line with MTM’s core values.
