About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the Franchise Power Team. In this role you’ll play a role in supporting the Project Manager with delivering critical power infrastructure across the network. You’ll represent Metro to ensure that the team is meeting deliverables set as part of the project scope and framework in accordance with the current Franchise agreement. You’ll work on exciting substation projects in locations such as Pakenham East and North Melbourne.

 

There are 2 fulltime, ongoing roles based out of our Collins Street office. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define aspects of the project management frameworks during the planning stages
  • Support and achieve objects set out for Franchise support business plans and customer expectations
  • You’ll ensure suitable resources, internal support and commercial viability for Metro to delivery on the project
  • You’ll identify and resolve complex technical project management operations. 

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in Engineering, Rail, Project Management and/or Construction
  • Communicate with influence with a range of different internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in the delivery of High Voltage Electrical Projects
  • Managing contractors and consultants
  • Experience with Signalling Design, Construction or Testing
  • Experience in a railway system operational or design environment
