Project Manager - Rail - Signal Renewals

The role:

Metro Trains operates and maintains Melbourne’s busy suburban train network. Successfully transporting over 400 000 passengers per day is achieved by our large dedicated workforce. The Infrastructure Division is at the forefront of maintaining and renewing our network and is currently seeking a Production Manager to join the Signals Renewals Team.

 

Key Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Critical examination of work practices to identify problems and initiate/develop alternative work procedures to improve quality, safety and efficiency
  • Ensure adequate resources and equipment is available for all works including emergency conditions to restore services within critical timeframes
  • Manage additional contract resources in order to deliver works including requisition, procurement, cost analysis in line with budget, performance, safety and quality in accordance with Metro’s contractor management procedures.
  • Prepare detailed works planning including access, people, plant, scope, cost and timing that enables delivery of the Annual Works Plan

The Infrastructure Division operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and though this position generally operates from Monday to Friday, the successful candidate may be required to attend works at night or on the weekends.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will display experience in:

  • Project Management experience within a railway signals maintenance area
  • Developing and Implementing work plans that include scheduling, resourcing and are within cost parameters
  • Managing and mentoring teams
  • Negotiation and influencing multiple stakeholders
  • Presenting reports and instructions in both written and verbal formats
