About the role

We are currently seeking a Rail Safety Coordinator to play a key role in The Level Crossing Removal (LXRP) Project team at SPA (Southern Program Alliance). This position will support the team by facilitating continuous improvement in rail safety management across rail / construction projects.

Please note this is a 12 month opportunity based on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all work in the rail corridor is compliant with RTO Procedures
  • Provide Rail Safety advice to construction teams.
  • Undertake site walks and visits from a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct investigations relating to project incidents and produce relevant reports
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and innovation of Rail Safety practices
  • Conduct regular Rail Safety compliance inspections and Critical Risk inspections.
  • Assist, mentor and develop the delivery of Rail Safety toolboxes and alerts on site.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be a qualified 3.2 Track Force Protection Coordinator or higher
  • Permit to Work Near (PTWN)Recipient (Preferred)
  • MTM – RIW (Rail Industry Worker) associated roles
  • Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety or above (Preferred)
  • Basic Construction Industry OHS Induction (White card)
  • Experience with completion of rail projects
  • Have experience in rail network and operations train running (preferred)
