The role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Resource Planner to join the resource planning management team to support the sourcing and organisation of people resources within the infrastructure division of Metro Trains Melbourne. The role will be responsible for providing ongoing, proactive and timely planning and people resourcing support to ensure planned works are adequately staffed to deliver projects effectively and on time.


This team often operates in a reactive environment where pressure to deliver to requirements is high, it is important that the successful candidate is resilient, proactive and adaptable. The dynamic demand of this position requires the Resource Planner to be able to pivot seamlessly where required and to have excellent multi-tasking and time management skills whilst ensuring a high level of attention to detail.
 

Role responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following, in addition to other duties as required: 

  • Reviewing and analysing Projects resource forecasts to validate accuracy and ensure resources can be rostered to achieve maximum productivity and deliver Project works safely and efficiently.
  • Providing subject matter expertise to support Alliances with accurate forecasting.
  • Liaising with Alliances and Project Portfolios to resolve supply and demand issues with submitted forecasts.
  • Completing resource rostering and communicated outcomes to Alliances in a timely manner.
  • Actioning regular resource reporting as required by the Resource Planning Manager.

About you:

Ideally applicants will display experience in their past where they’ve demonstrated:

  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Effective and proactive stakeholder management to both internal and external parties ideally within a project environment.
  • Ability to manage, use and maintain administrative systems including strong, demonstratable experience across Microsoft software packages
