We are currently looking for a Governance and Assurance Manager to work within MTM Metro Tunnel Project portfolio to ensure MTM-MTP is capable of demonstrating assurance for the end-to-end corridor; resulting from the MTP reset in 2021.

 

The Governance and Assurance Manager​​​​​​​ is responsible for managing the MTP’s Level 2 assurance approach, that ensures compliance with MTM’s safety, risk and governance processes and that delivers appropriate independent assurance to MTM’s Change Control Board.

 

You will report to the Risk and System Assurance Lead Metro Tunnels Project and have a small team of two direct reports.

 

This is a permanent full-time opportunityAs an MTM employee, you will have access to free travel along the network. 

 

 Key Areas of Responsibility

 

  • Lead specific elements of the MTP Governance Process, including compliance against the MTP Project Management Plan, MTP Assurance Roadmap & Principles, MTM Sunshine to Dandenong Rail Line Integrated Assurance & Governance Strategy, MTM Safety & Environmental Risk Management Standard, Project Assurance Framework, Integrated Risk Management procedure, and MTM’s Safety Management System.
  • Manage the coordination of Level 2 assurance processes across relevant MTP assurance functions - including the Systems Engineering and Integration, Engineering Design Review, SERQ and readiness workstreams – to provide targeted reviews that identify residual risks for transfer to MTM from the commencement of operations.
  • Maintain and amend the MTM Sunshine to Dandenong Rail Line Integrated Assurance & Governance Strategy to reflect current assurance governance arrangements and agreements with MTM and Rail Projects Victoria stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and management to a team of specialist Risk and Assurance Advisors
  • Identify opportunities to improve Level 2 assurance processes across the MTP and review the program Level 2 Emerging Residual Risk and Assurance & Accreditation registers.

 

 About You

 

  • The successful candidate will have a Tertiary qualification or significant relevant experience in designing/implementing/coordinating assurance and/or governance management processes in a technical or regulated operating environment, such as Rail/ Manufacturing/ Aerospace/ Construction/ Mining/ Automotive/ Oil & Gas/ Utilities/ Chemicals/ Defence
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge in the area of assurance, accreditation/regulatory processes, and/or rail safety or experience of System Safety Assurance processes in a construction or engineering setting would be advantageous
  • Previous experience managing a small team or looking to step up into a leadership role
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and non-technical documentation including contractual requirements including to legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Possess organising, analytical, evaluative and decision-making skills
  • Ability to motivate and communicate effectively with all personnel throughout the organisation
  • Strong stakeholder management experience to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure a focus on safety
  • Strong report writing, analytical ability and critical thinking
