Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) are currently recruiting for a Risk Coordinator to support the Level Crossing Removal Project as part of the North Western Program Alliance
As the Risk Coordinator you will play a key role in the implementation and control of MTM risk management strategies and LXRP’s system safety assurance processes to minimise all forms of risk and maximise opportunities for the projects within the Alliance.
This is a full time position offered as a 12 month max term contract. The role will be priarily based from Sunshine main offices with requirements to work from various projet sites across the network
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assurance to the Engineering Interface, Systems Engineering & Safety Assurance Manager, the Project Manager, and the Rail Director that the project is managing all risks safe SFAIRP.
- Support the development and management of Project Hazard Logs (PHL), Safety Derived Requirements (SDR) and Change Registers covering all facets of risk including safety, financial, operational, environmental, reputational
- Support the development of risk registers, facilitate risk workshops and participate in the hazard identification and analysis process.
- Attend project meetings and liaise with relevant stakeholders to support the continuous two-way information exchange on risk management activities.
- Support the development of System Engineering & Safety Assurance documentation.
- Develop, analyse and trace requirements, specifications, operational concepts and use cases.
- Contribute to the conformance of sub-system designs with requirements, specifications, systems interfaces and other designs.
- Plan and conduct systems safety verification and validation in line with MTM & LXRP’s requirements, and legislative and regulatory requirements.

About You:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field is required (e.g. Engineering, Industrial Safety, risk management)
- Demonstrated experience within System Safety Assurance processes in a construction or engineering setting
- Experience facilitating risk assessment workshops and identification of risk reduction strategies and demonstrated experience in the development of hazard analysis and risk assessment’s
- Demonstrated experience in project delivery incorporating risk management;
- Excellent verbal and written skills and can communicate and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders to develop trust and strong relationships.
- Critical thinking, analytical assessment and problem solving abilities
- Strong capabilities in consultation and interpersonal relationships management
