We are currently looking for a Rostering Specialist to join the Rail System Alliance work package on this project. 
Reporting into the Operational Test Manager, the Rostering Specialist is responsible for coordinating, rostering and ensuring that the test schedule is met with the required resources within schedules time frames.  They would also be responsible for staff resourcing and compliance with Enterprise Agreements and safety and fatigue management plans. 


The Role:

  • Manage the resource pipeline and monitoring of Test and Commission staff competence for testing
  • Recruit testers to backfill the resource plan pipeline over the project lifecycle
  • Develop test rosters that comply with Metro employees Enterprise Agreements
  • Plan for numbers and determine lead times of both operations and maintenance test crews.
  • Smooth rostering with test schedule wherever possible
  • Ensure that all test crews have the appropriate compliance and accreditations to be in the field testing
  • Work with test crews to help establish a workable roster for testing
  • Monitor and manage the people aspects of Testing including competency, mobilisation, rostering, ensuring all compliance with the Enterprise Agreements of Metro employees.


About You:

  • Expertise & experience in rail and or safety critical operational testing and implementation 
  • Experience planning testing 
  • Evidence of working in high pressured and demanding environments. 
  • Stakeholder engagement skills as well as being a skilled collaborator 
  • Creative in thinking supporting Metro in (culture and values) ensuring content supports and resonates their transformation narrative 
  • Delivery focused looking for fit for purpose, pragmatic and efficientways to deliver content.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Business/Engineering and/or have equivalent experience in large scale business transformation in a rail operations delivery organisation.
  • Experience in the deployment of technology in a railway environment.
  • Strong understanding from an engineering perspective of systems and technology process.
  • Ideally, you will also have experience integrating complex technical and interface issues in a 24/7 environment.
  • Experience in managing test plans with a complex landscape that require integration of real time and distributed software-based systems in Air Traffic, Rail, Marine, Aviation or related industries.
  • Relevant qualifications and extensive experience in management of test strategies (end user experience) within the rail industry
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards & codes of practise
  • Experience delivering test strategies to multiple departments
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Experience within the rail industry – desirable
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business.
  • Ability to analyse data, write and present reports, undertake and complete complex tasks
  • Ability to participate in and support MTM Trains ongoing business improvement process
