About the position
You will be responsible for carrying out a range of tasks including inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of the suburban train fleet vehicles. The role plays a vital part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and punctual operation of the train fleet.
- 2 year max term contract, full-time position
- Hours of work:
- Day shift Monday to Friday on commencement, future shift work opportunities subject to business requirements
- Free on-site parking
- Monthly RDO for Monday to Friday day workers
Key responsibilities include:
- Check and repair electrical circuits, undertake safety procedures and perform examination tasks.
- Fault finding (using train electrical drawings and accepted fault-finding practices) including diagnosing faults using electrical schematics and standard practices.
- Conduct scheduled train examinations and inspections including testing, repairing, and maintaining electrical circuits.
- Respond to and assist with incidents involving derailments, collisions, pantograph entanglements, fatalities, and other operational disruptions.
About you
- AQF III Trade qualified as an Electrical Fitter or Electrotechnology Technician .
- A current/valid Full Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Previous experience in a maintenance environment.
